Medical Supervisor

As our Clinical Supervisor , you’ll manage daily operations within our Crisis Psychiatric Care (Subacute) program . You will provide clinical and licensure supervision of Child and Family Therapists (CFTs) or Qualified Mental Health Professionals (QMHPs) including creation and implementation of staff development plans, along with providing crisis support and guidance to team members. Additionally, you’ll monitor effective clinical assessment by qualified staff and implementation of medically necessary mental health treatment services. The Clinical Supervisor ensures the program follows all policies, procedures outlined in Oregon Administrative Rules (OARs), Accreditation Standards and ensures adherence to the values and ethics of various state licensing boards. Plus, you’ll help develop and implement strength based, evidence based, innovative therapeutic programming and practices within our Subacute program in coordination with our Children’s Mental Health Director.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Social Work or related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Valid and unencumbered Oregon licensure in Social Work (LCSW), Marriage & Family Therapy (LMFT), Professional Counseling (LPC) preferred.
  • Approved Licensure Supervision course highly preferred.
  • Minimum two years’ experience working with people with mental health or developmental disabilities and ability to relate effectively with clients, families and others in the service agencies.
  • Ability to respond to crisis situations.
  • Effective leadership, supervisory and organizational skills.
  • Must possess basic reading, writing, and mathematical skills necessary to complete or utilize the records and forms required of this position.
  • Valid Driver’s license and the ability to meet agency driving requirements.
  • Intermittent periods of standing and sitting, with frequent periods of walking short distances within the facility.
  • Moderate periods of carrying small equipment items weighing less than 10 lbs.

Job Requirements:

  • Provide clinical leadership and regular supervision to Child and Family Therapists providing services in Subacute consistent with Strength-based, Trauma-Informed, and System of Care Principles.
  • Coordinate and supervise staff schedules and vacation request including creation and ongoing management of the on-call calendar
  • Work with all program staff to assess and implement mental health Plans of Care, Behavior Support Plans and Crisis/Safety plans.
  • Communicate closely and effectively with all program staff to ensure safely and continuity of care for all clients.
  • Ensure all agency-required staff training is current and provide training to staff as needed.
  • Ensure all direct supervisees are following all compliance standards within agency policies and procedures.
  • Provide supervisees with timely performance evaluations. Additionally, provide all supervisees with timely feedback and appropriate written recourse or performance improvement plans as needed.
  • Effective daily coordination with Access Center to staff all referrals for clinical appropriateness for admission to the Subacute program and to help ensure a safe milieu and coordinate admission planning among staff.
  • Be available to staff for consultation and problem solving, communicating with clinicians, physicians, supervisors, and Director as needed.
  • Carry a small caseload, or overflow cases as needed.
  • Participate and provide leadership in Kerr Project Management and Quality Improvement committees as assigned.
  • Represent Subacute to various stakeholder meetings and trainings.
  • Participate in Administrator On-Call Rotation.
  • Help to support, plan, implement and oversee best treatment practices and program development in Coordination with Mental Health Director.
  • Other duties as assigned/needed by Mental Health Director.
