Truck Mechanic

Job Summary Must be able to repair light-duty trucks.

All functions are to be performed while exhibiting and championing safe work and environmental compliance practices for the incumbent as well as co-workers.

Responsibilities Engines, transmissions, clutches, rear ends, and other assemblies on diesel/gasoline motorized equipment, replacing worn or broken parts Change tires, oils, and greases diesel or gasoline motorized equipment by use of hand or pressure grease guns Assist garage mechanics in making repairs Adjusts brakes, repairs fuel pumps, injectors, etc.

Performs welding, brazing, cutting, or fabricating on engine powered equipment or components Maintains air conditioning units on all mobile equipment Performs repairs on/troubleshoots mobile equipment electrical systems Maintains work area in a clean and orderly condition Performs functions of a Garage Maintenance Helper as necessary Performs clean up in all areas of the facility Other functions as assigned Education High School Diploma/GED Requirements/Qualifications Familiarity with computers Ability to read, write, and verbally communicate in the English language Knowledge of hazards associated with areas of responsibility Ability to sit, stand, stoop, and bend for extended periods of time (up to 8 hours) Walk on all types of surfaces (uneven and/or slippery ground) Physical ability to climb on equipment Ability to see and hear safety indicators and warnings Equal Opportunities: CalPortland is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to workforce diversity.

Compensation $25.00
