JOB SUMMARY:
The Lead Dentist, reporting to the Regional Dental Director, will provide general (or specialized) dentistry and will provide clinical oversight and leadership to the providers and clinical staff in a multi-specialty dental practice.

The Lead Dentist will partner closely with the Practice Manager to achieve optimal fiscal initiatives, clinical safety and compliance activities, and overall patient satisfaction.

The position contributes to DentaQuest Care Group’s continued success by passionately executing the company’s business model; promoting the company culture, mission and values; and ensuring consistent compliance with all key company programs and operating initiatives.

Responsible for driving superior levels of patient service while striving continuously to improve outcomes.

Follows and supports the CARE model for patient experience.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead Dentist Responsibilities
Provide clinical and administrative leadership, mentorship and direction to dentists and providers.

Lead clinical trainings to include hands-on trainings in a dental office setting.

Establish a positive working environment in the dental office.

Ensure oversight of maintenance, repair and follow up of the building, office, equipment, instruments and related items are regularly performed.

Build a customer service-focused atmosphere with high customer service feedback.

Knowledge and understanding of financial and operational reporting including profit and loss statements and key performance indicators.

Create a productive, organized and efficient dental practice by adhering to policy, protocol and best practices provided by company leadership.

Dentistry
Perform optimal standard of care for all patients utilizing ADA guidelines.

Diagnose and provide appropriate dental treatment plans to patients to include discussion and explanation of treatment plans with patients and/or guardians to their satisfaction and mutual understanding.

Educate Patients and Guardians on the importance of maintaining proper oral health and outlining goals for both medical and dental health considerations.

Communicate with our clinical and administrative support team regarding patient treatment plans, required follow up visits and referrals to specialty dentists.

Prescribe medications as necessary and appropriate.

Carefully document all medications, diagnoses, consultations and treatment plans in the electronic medical record and adhere to HIPAA regulations.

Execution of proper follow up and continued care of patients involved in multi – step treatment plans, particularly for those patients referred for specialty care.

Attend required continuing education courses related to the dental profession for continued and improved knowledge and technique of dentistry and oral health.

Practice and follow infection control and OSHA regulations.

Follow all rules and regulations set by the state, federal and governmental entities.

Other duties as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
DDS or DMD required.

Dentist licensing/certifications as required by state.

Demonstrated leadership qualities and abilities.

Maintain Continuing Education (CE) as required by state.

Current CPR certification.

Group practice dental experience preferred.

Full-Time schedule required.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to travel using personal car as required by the company.

Occasional overnight travel.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Ability to stand for frequent and extended periods of time.

The ability to bend, squat, kneel, reach overhead and carry or lift up to 50 pounds.

The ability to handle sharp instruments.

May be exposed to bloodborne pathogens, chemical hazards, respiratory hazards in a controlled environment.

May be exposed to hazardous chemicals or substances.

Personal Protective Equipment required.
