A warehouse for an extensive line of metal products including carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, expanded metal, grating, pipe, rebar and trailer parts is seeking a CAD Designer.

*Duties and Responsibilities for CAD Designer: *
* Participate in the investigation and solution of technical problems.
* Participate in the review and verification of programs against blue print models for compliance to specifications and conformance.
* Proofread and troubleshoot NC programs and tooling methods to provide efficient, trouble free future runs.
* The position is responsible for using our CAD software to convert customer and engineering designs and ideas into technical drawings and plans.
* Recommend and implement improvements to improve efficiency and / or resolve issues.
* Write sales orders and quotations for bar stock, beam and plate and processing services then follow-up to determine outcome of all bids and report to Branch Manager the results.
* Work with insides & outside sales staff to quote and coordinate processing quotes and orders.
* Write nesting programs and pre-nesting programs using Pro Nest and BySoft 7 software as assigned for in-house and outside processing orders.

Also, to assist the processing department in other processes as needed.
*OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: *
* Design plans using computer-aided design and drafting (CAD) software under minimal supervision.
* Create drawings and models from written and verbal specifications from customers, project leads, and managers.
* Review customer drawings for completeness and accuracy.
* Operate as the project manager for small production jobs.
* Specify dimensions, materials, and procedures for new products.
* Maintain electronic files associated with production of new or existing parts, including incorporating design changes if needed and ensuring integrity of company files through proper data management.
* Create drawings efficiently and in a timely manner in order to eliminate delays and reduce costs associated with waste.
* Maintain all quality standards in accordance with the specifications for each job in order to meet customer requirements and satisfaction.
* Oversee assigned production jobs from customer order to completion and delivery.
* Assist the processing department in other processes as needed.
* Develop a system to improve costing and speed of “turn around” for all processing quotes.
* Help customers with their questions at the sales counter with all orders (bar stock and processing).
* Write quotes and orders when they are assigned from inquiries generated from the company website.
* Seeking out new ways to increase our customer service and develop customer relations.
* CAD Programmer duties are not all-inclusive and will include other special projects assigned from time to time.
*Skills and Qualifications for CAD Designer: *
* High School Diploma, some college preferred-TBD
* Experience with DraftSight and/or SolidWorks is a must
* Willing to train on the Sales aspects of the job
* 2+ years of metal process experience, including a minimum of 12 months in programming.
* Willing to work independently
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills and have the ability to finish projects in a timely manner.
* Attendance and showing up on time is very important

* Regular Shift: Mon-Fri 8 am
– 4:30 pm
* $20/hr
– $25/hr DOE
