Research Associate II

We are currently seeking a Research Associate II to join our team in Portland!

In this role, you would provide the following essential functions:
Provide grant oversight by monitoring budgets and project timelines to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Develop project Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
Depending on the requirement of the specific project, the RA II may be required to:
Participate in the project design;
Participate in the development of survey research instruments;
Develop participant recruitment strategies;
Travel to providers and clinics for participant recruitment;
Collect data from a variety of sources;
Extract from, edit and enter study data into electronic data capture sources;
Analyze data in appropriate statistical packages, including cleaning, logic checks, etc;
Provide summary of preliminary findings and participate in manuscript preparation;
Provide data analyses requiring a higher level of technical expertise;
Develops, displays, and maintains data in graphs, summary tables, and charts;
Manuscript preparation.
Move between, and be present at, multiple locations for study-related activities independently on short notice.
Oversee project work of data entry, and support staff for accuracy and completeness; may assist in training RA I or support staff in the conduct of surveys and other job functions.
Provide statistical guidance, including power estimates and analyses, in grant and project design preparation.
Provide research-based services strictly adhering to Good Clinical Practices.
Respond to CODA data requests for project development.
Requirements
Masters Degree in Biological, Social Science, Public Health, Healthcare or a related field.
PREFERRED:
Current, unencumbered Oregon Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) licensure.

Certified Medical Assistant License or Medical Assistant license eligible (if within 6 months of graduation from program)
If license eligible, applicant must obtain license within one month of hire
Practical training in phlebotomy

Ability to apply methods, systems, and procedures of clinical research in a logical, systematic, and sequential approach.
Ability to provide accurate data management.
Ability to work with minimal supervision and to demonstrate initiative and resourcefulness.
Ability to work independently yet cohesively with the research department team, maintaining effective professional working relationships and clear lines of communication.
Ability to maintain professional communications and boundaries while managing complex situations and interacting with individuals diagnosed with substance use or co-occurring conditions.
Ability to operate a computer including proficiency with MS Office programs and proficiency in statistical packages
Applicants must have excellent oral and written interpersonal skills and the ability to resolve myriad unanticipated study participant conflicts while maintaining professional boundaries.
Ability to work within technical and behavioral guidelines required by funding agency, e.g.

HIPAA, conflict of interest, confidentiality, Good Clinical Practices, etc.
All CODA facilities are drug-free and smoke-free worksites.

Employees may not be serving any supervised parole or probation.

Individuals in recovery must have a minimum of two years in recovery post-treatment to be considered for employment.
