Portland Plastic Surgery group is looking for an experienced, kind, and compassionate Certified Medical Assistant to join our growing practice.
The applicant must be able to perform a variety of tasks with a strong commitment to implement and maintain organization while maintaining efficiency throughout the practice.
Additionally, the applicant must be able to develop positive relationships with all patients as well as our staff.
Requirements:
· Must be Certified as an MA by an accredited program such as AAMA, NCCT, AMT, NHA, etc.
· High School diploma or equivalent.
· Current CPR/BLS Card
· Minimum of two years experience as a medical assistant in a medical practice.
Preferably in a Plastic Surgery practice, but not required.
· Must be comfortable in a fast-paced environment
· Must have exceptional customer service skills, be highly organized, and detail oriented.
· Experience with electronic medical records is a plus
Responsibilities:
· Assist in admitting patients to the clinic: check vitals, chief complaint, allergies, medications, pain level etc.
· Assist (when necessary) patients with undressing and chaperone during patient examinations.
· Observing and recording patients’ conditions; obtain accurate vital signs.
· Follow WHO standards for hand hygiene.
· Clean exam rooms following release of each patient; stock rooms with supplies, instruments, and blankets if needed.
· Respond to or pass on patients’ medical questions in a timely matter.
Document conversations in EMR (Nextech).
· Ensure the timely completion of all disability/FMLA/Home Health/OT orders received.
· Minor Treatment Room preparations: Set up sterilized field for minor procedures, circulate in Minor Treatment Room under the direct supervision of the physician, remove used and unsterile supplies and instruments from the Minor Treatment Room; wash and prepare instruments for sterilization.
· Perform suture removal, dressing changes, tissue expansions, and drain removals without direct provider supervision.
· Complete all lab, imaging and pathology requests as required by a provider.
· Responsible for maintaining and ordering medical supplies as needed for the clinic in a timely manner.
· Ensure that all linens and gowns are washed and properly folded daily.
· Ensure saline syringes for tissue expansions are filled and ready for the next clinical day.
· Prepare garments and implants for Physicians’ to take to the OR.
· Respond to all non-urgent patient inquiries received either through email or over the phone within 24 hours.
· Prep all pre-operative paperwork for the following day’s pre-op patients.
