Member Service Representative

Responsibilities
Provide a positive member experience by acknowledging and welcoming members by name, showing an interest in helping, display positive body language such as smiling when welcoming members and using an upbeat vocal tone throughout the interaction.
Properly identify and assist membership in over-the-counter transactions such as: deposits, withdrawals, check cashing, transfers, etc.
Perform basic account maintenance such as: address changes, card/check ordering, enroll members in online banking.
Acknowledge members’ questions and concerns and offer an appropriate solution or escalate to through the proper chain of command.
Troubleshoot any issues with online/mobile banking and offer to walk the member through re-establishing access.
Be vigilant in reducing risk of fraud or loss exposure by examining items for negotiation, picking up on suspicious account activity, and properly identify persons conducting the transaction.
Discover opportunities to cross-sell product for the betterment of our members.
Keep members up to date and informed on different products and tools offered by the Credit Union.
Maintain and balance a cash drawer within the specified limits.
Perform specified back-office operational tasks such as: balancing vault cash lines, negotiated items, document imaging, etc.
Perform any additional duties assigned by management.
Skills & abilities
Ability to work on multiple tasks at the simultaneously and effectively prioritize work.
Ability to communicate and work in a team setting to accomplish tasks and goals set by the Credit Union.
Proficient math skills, counting cash, ten-key and basic computer skills.
Provide a high level of member service, communication skills, organization and self-motivation.
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $17.00 per hour

COVID-19 considerations:
All members and employees are required to wear masks while in the office, plexiglass barriers have been installed at all work stations, and hand sanitizer dispensers have been added to the lobby and employee areas.

Education:
High school or equivalent (Preferred)
Experience:
Banking: 1 year (Preferred)
Cash handling: 1 year (Preferred)
Customer service: 1 year (Preferred)
Work Location: One location
