Distribution Center Supervisor (3rd Shift)
As a 3rd Shift Distribution Center Supervisor, you will be responsible for day-to-day shift operations at the Portland Purina Animal Nutrition Distribution Center located in Portland, OR including the leadership, direction and development of warehouse employees in a 3-shift/5-days a week operation.
You will contribute to the maintenance and ongoing development of safety, production, service, quality, inventory control standards and employee development for the site. You will maintain effective business relationships with local sales team members customer service and manufacturing plant leadership as well as corporate shared services business partners.
Additional warehouse supervisor job duties:
-
Accomplishes warehouse objectives by training coaching, and counseling employees; communicating job expectations; planning and insuring that employees are adhering to policies and procedures.

Meeting warehouse operational standards by reviewing and executing daily strategic plans for: safety, production, quality, and customer-service standards.
-
Must be capable of resolving problems and identifying warehouse operational improvements.
-
Responsible for shift shipping and receiving schedules.
-
Maintains inventory by conducting physical counts; reconciling variances and inputting correct data while ensuring that all Purina inventory management processes are followed.

Maintains warehouse organization and housekeeping standards.
-
Secures warehouse at the end of shift by following warehouse shutdown procedures.

Accomplishes warehouse and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
Experience-Education Required:
-
Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or similar degree Preferred. In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, a high school diploma/GED is required with 4+ years of direct supervisory experience in a warehouse environment.
-
Minimum 2+ plus years’ experience supervising day/day operations in a distribution/warehouse environment with the ability to engage, develop, and motivate a diverse staff, while adhering to policies and procedures.

Integrity, safety, mobilizing talent, computer aptitude and a working knowledge of supply chain processes including transportation, inventory management, warehouse operations management, safety, security and quality standards and regulations.

Ability to work in a multi-task environment, work cooperatively and collaboratively, communicate effectively with multiple business partners and adept at influencing, inspiring, and motivating others as needed.

Strong WMS/computer skills, including MS Office Suite (Word & Excel).

Ensure safe, efficient warehouse facility operations by advocating and driving safety training & accident preparedness.
Preferred Experience:

Basic understanding of Federal/State/Local OSHA and transportation requirements

Establish and maintain collaborative relationships across all levels of departments to implement strategic solutions

Foster and reinforce a positive, collaborative environment that respects and values diversity
Preferred Competencies & Other Skills:

Experience and proficiency with eTime or timekeeping systems
-
Maintain & continuously improve cost-efficiency and facility performance
-
Experience with WMS/ERP Systems is highly preferred
Physical Requirements for Production Positions Regularly Include:
-
Frequent movement including walking, standing, bending/stooping, turning, twisting, pushing, pulling, raising arms, lifting, climbing and other active movements
-
Performing duties while wearing personal protective equipment

Working across temperature zones that may include cold and/or hot environments for extended periods and may include work in environments where dust is present
Hours: This position will have responsibility for the 3rd shift from 10:30pm-7:00am, Monday-Friday.
