Staff Development Coordinator – Registered Nurse RN

What does the Staff Development Coordinator do?: If you are a nurse that loves to coach/guide/teach and get the most out of healthcare staff, then you will truly enjoy the Staff Development Coordinator role.

You will oversee our staff training program (in collaboration with the Director of Nursing), assess what trainings needs to take place, schedule and provide those trainings, track progress, and more.

You would play a integral piece in the overall success of the skilled nursing care center.

In this job, every day you will… 1.

Determine and assess care center clinical training and educational needs, develops an educational plan and reports education program updates to the Administrator and Director of Nursing.

2.

Assumes responsibility for directing the in-service educational programs and completing competency skills annually and as needed.

3.

Coordinates the onboarding and orientation programs for newly hired clinical team members.

Directs the preceptor and/or mentor programs for new employees.

4.

Supports recruitment of clinical positions including contacting applicants, interviewing, conducting reference checks and completing new hire onboarding.

5.

Assists in the management of the Infection Control Program and Antibiotic Stewardship including acting as an Infection Preventionists (as required) and completing specialized training in infection control.

Provides training to staff on infection control practices, investigates and reports incidents of infection and tracks infection data.

6.

Tracks and maintain team member credentials including but not limited to licensure, Hepatitis B and TB, in accordance with Prestige policy and state and federal regulations.

7.

Participates in leadership team by actively contributing in decision making, grievance follow up, building and company-wide initiatives and attending leadership team meetings such as daily stand up, Managing Acute Care Conditions (MACC), Nutrition at Risk (NAR), Utilization Review (UR), Quality Assurance Performance Improvement (QAPI) and other meetings as required.

Education Experience you need to qualify: * You need to have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing.* You must have an unencumbered license as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse in the state of practice.* Registered Nurse preferred.* Minimum of one year of nursing experience in acute or long-term care.* One year in a supervisory or management position with experience with staff development, training and scheduling preferred.

Individual must be a team player, well organized, and flexible.
