The AML Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring the FID has effective internal controls for managing requirements related to Currency Transaction Reports, Monetary Instrument Logs, OFAC screening, negative news alerts, account closure administration, CTR Exemptions, and 314(a) processes.Functions* Supervise team of AML Support Specialists.* Effectively implement controls and processes to ensure compliance with the requirements of Currency Transaction Reporting (CTR), Monetary Instrument Log (MIL) OFAC screening, negative news alerts, account closure administration, CTR Exemptions, and 314(a) processes.* Assist and coach team members to improve overall efficiency, effectiveness, and career growth.* Drive process improvements to create greater effectiveness and efficiency within all areas of responsibility.* Maintain effective internal control environment to achieve satisfactory audit and QC results for areas of responsibility.* Oversee OFAC resolution when matches occur and ensure effective procedures are in place to monitor assigned OFAC systems.* Demonstrate compliance with all BSA and OFAC regulations and keep up to date on regulatory changes.* Maintain working knowledge of Bank policies and procedures regarding the Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, Regulation E, Bank Security, and other regulations that apply.Supervisory Responsibilities* 5 – 8 employeesQualifications* Required bachelor’s degree in business, criminal justice, law, accounting, or related field.* 5-8 years’ experience required in BSA/AML and/or Financial Crimes investigations with a financial institution.* 1-3 years of supervisory/management experience required leading teams to greater effectiveness.* CAMS or equivalent certification or willingness to obtain CAMS certification.* Advanced skills in the use of Excel and/or other tools for the analysis of data.* Proven ability to lead teams.* Advanced understanding of OFAC screening and the recordkeeping and reporting requirements of the BSA as it pertains to Currency Transaction Reporting, Monetary Instrument Log recordkeeping.Physical Requirements and Working ConditionsWork involves:* sitting* walking* lifting to 25 pounds.* occasional TravelNo relocation offered.About UsWe do things a little differently here at Umpqua.
