Scenic Production Assistant

General SummaryThe Production Assistant is responsible for providing administrative and production assistance to the Scenic Department. Working under the Art Department Production Manager and Head of Scenic, this position will help facilitate the workflow of information, communication and tracking of physical assets for the Scenic Department.Job Functions* Organizes and prepares Scenic content and artists for rounds for Art Direction, Direction and Production Design; collaborating with other Department Coordinators as needed.* Ensures that all Scenic artists are supplied with launch materials, essential tools, and adequate context for their work.* Ensures that all Scenic artists are properly aware of production priorities and deadlines; including department meetings and absences.* Helps maintain organization, inventory, and cleaning of shared shop space.* Tracks turned over assets and updates statuses in Shotgun.* Works with the Head of Scenic and Art Department Production Manager to organize, call and/or attend any relevant meetings, and ensures that proper notes are recorded and distributed.* Fills in for Art Department. coordinators/PAs when the need arises.* Assists the Model Shop Coordinator in ensuring all assets are photographed following approval for reference and recreation.Qualifications* 0 – 2 years of work experience, prior Stop Motion animation, production or miniature fabrication experience, a plus.* Detail oriented with ability to troubleshoot and problem solve.* Demonstrated time management skills and ability to prioritize.* Strong communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to work with all levels within the organization.* Ability to work as a team member.* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel/Word).* Familiarity with Adobe design software (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator).* Knowledge of Shotgun software, a plus.* Understanding of materials and processes used in Art Dept./film, a plus.Physical Demands and Work environmentThe physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.* Work environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee works under Shop conditions and is exposed to variable indoor temperatures. The noise level is usually moderate.
