The Director of Material Planning is an essential player within the MSM organizationWe are looking for strategic minded individuals, who will be responsible for leading the (FW or APP/ACC) team to drive planning standard methodologies across a team of material planners.

Tasked with driving new capabilities, this individual will use technology and analytics to drive improved delivery while leading inventory and cost.

As the planning representative of the Materials triad, this individual will need to collaborate with external partners to meet MSM goals across our key pillars of Innovation.

& Product Excellence, Speed and Responsiveness, Cost Efficiency, and Sustainability.nn nnWhat will you work onnn nnLeads the material planning team by driving a vision for end to end material excellence aligned with the corporate vision.Manages team and sets team and individual goals that align with department and function goals.

Coaches staff, creates opportunities for staff development, makes hiring decision, drives performance management, recognition and rewards.

Develops team structure that facilitates and maximizes individual and team performance.Develop strong collaborations across the Materials echo system.Understanding of MRP basics, Demand, Production and Capacity ManagementStrong understanding of Planning metrics.

Can interpret driving factors and implement corrective actions.Identify gaps within the current planning function.

Develop, train and implement new capabilities within own team, as well, as key partners.In depth understanding of Manufacturing standard methodologiesUnderstanding of Manufacturing key metrics and ability to evaluate and recommend improvements in run strategies to meet inventory and service objectivesDevelop and implementation of lead time strategies.nn nnWho will you work withnn nnLead the planning portion of the Material excellence triad; which also includes material development and sourcing.nn nnKey stake holders:nn nnMaterials sourcingPartner/Materials Manufacturing ManagementCostingProduct developmentSupply PlanningAnalyticsGSM/DSM TechnologyTier 2 PartnerTier 1 Partnersnn nnWHAT YOU BRINGnn nnBachelor’s degree

– 10 years of experience in Supply Chain, Planning (Supply, Demand, Materials, etc.), Manufacturing and/or Logistics functionsnn nnStrong understanding of MRP concepts, specifically impacts on inventory and serviceStrong understanding of Manufacturing production strategiesExperience working in a diverse, cross-functional environmentEffective communication skills, including in-person, written and via phoneEffective presentation skillsResults-oriented approach for prioritizing workProficiency with Microsoft office suitePassion for Nike products and sportnn nnPreferred qualifications:nn nnAPICS certification (CPIM, CSCP, CLTD)Understanding of manufacturing processes (not necessarily Footwear or Apparel)Experience aligning cross-cultural, virtual teamsnn
