Mill Trainee $17.15/hour – Urgently Hiring!

*Duties and Responsibilities for Mill Trainee*
* Clean debris under the dry veneer conveyor, loader, storage chains, unloaders and areas surrounding the dyers using a broom, rake and/or shovel
* Dump hog & veneer dry bins, green veneer boxes and all trash boxes using forklift
* Assist water vendor with hauling water rack as needed
* Feed different sized panels of green veneer into the dryers
* Operate scissor platform using pedals & buttons
* Assist with removing jams & plugups on various machinery
* Visually inspect veneer sheets, grade them, then stack onto appropriate carts
* Push full carts of veneer to forklift pickup area, then return to grading station
* Use router to remove defects
* Use poly gun to fill defects
* Patch panels with special putty & epoxy to upgrade quality of plywood panels using putty & panel knives
* Use router to remove defects
* Keep accurate log of downtime, grade type, etc.
* Place wood patches in open defects
* Operate sheet station machinery using button panels & adjust photo-eye as needed
* Visual inspect veneer sheet quality
* Monitor veneer sheets dropping from sheet station to ensure proper alignment
* Ensure all sheets meet the minimum width requirements
* Discard narrow sheets and replace with on-grade sheets
* Flatten all bowed curved & uneven sheets & remove unintentional sheet overlaps
* Band green veneer units for shipment
* Generate tags for units, verify tag accuracy & staple tag to loads
* Transport banded units to shipping area & stack properly using forklift
* Maintain boiler fuel pile
* Feed fuel into the system
* Clean boiler cells by using standard cell operating procedures
* Operate front end loader
* Monitor boiler equipment/gauges & valves
* Monitor boiler computer readout
* Perform firewatch duties as needed

Job Purpose:
As a Temporary Production Associate you will sort, grade and stack wood material coming from machine centers.

You will also sort and grade various material including Fingerjoint, Veneer, etc.

We provide the opportunity for cross-training for other positions and departments.
Essential Functions:
Learn the sizes and grade of material being sorted
Properly stack loads squarely and to the correct heights
Grade out rejected material and places in the appropriate locations
Learn how to correctly set up area
Assist other team members
Maintain piece counts
Learn to operate equipment including chop saws and compound miter saws.
Learn to read and use a calibrated tape measure
Follow standard safety protocol.
Qualifications:
Previous manufacturing experience is a plus.
High school diploma is preferred.
Schedules:
Rotating: M-F; Rotating every 2 weeks between 4am-2:30pm, 2:30pm-1am
Pay: $18.23 ($17.73 (base) + $0.50 (shift differential))
Straight Swing: M-F; 2:30pm
– 1am
Pay: $18.73 ($17.73 (base) + $1.00 (shift differential))
When overtime is not required we will be working four, 10 hour shifts a week on the above schedules.

Summary
This position is primarily responsible to service a broad range of vehicle repair issues to ensure proper performance and safety of vehicles and for quickly identifying the cause of performance problems.

This Specimen Processing Specialist 1 position’s primary duty is to assist with the Surgical Pathology department’s digital pathology initiative.

Other duties include assisting other Surgical Pathology Specialists as needed.The major duties of the Specimen Processing Specialist 1 consists of receiving, identifying, assigning accession numbers, sorting, preparation, internal laboratory distribution of surgical pathology and cytology samples, slides and materials.

The secondary role of this position is to provide technical support for laboratory technical staff, residents, pathology assistants, pathologists and other specimen processors.

This position will also answer telephone calls concerning lab results, specimen requirements, procedures, time required for tests, and preparation of specimens for other lab sections and outside labs for analysis.

The person filling this position will be of professional demeanor and perform their duties with an attitude which will best serve the clients of the department, OHSU, and outside the organization.

Commercial Driver – Class B CDL | $4000K Bonus

POSITION SUMMARY: A Driver
– CDL (B) is responsible for safely operating a collection truck, and providing prompt, courteous and complete waste removal services for customers.

In addition, a Driver – CDL (B) is responsible for ensuring his or her vehicle is in compliance with the Company’s safety standards prior to operating the vehicle, ensures that all Company, state and federal regulations are adhered to at all times while operating the vehicle, and completes vehicle condition reports (“VCRs”) on a daily basis to ensure that any vehicle defects are repaired in a timely manner.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform complete pre
– and post-operation inspection of the vehicle in accordance with Company policy to ensure tire pressure, fluid levels, safety equipment, gauges, and controls are in proper working order.

Report any safety issues on standard reports.
Safely operate his or her heavy truck along his or her designated route and to the disposal site; read route sheet, follow map and service each customer as identified on the route sheet or as assigned by the dispatcher and/or supervisor.
Operate manual and/or automatic controls in accordance with Company safety policies and procedures to lift and load refuse, operate compactor and dispose of collected material at the designated facility.
Courteously interact with all customers, dispatchers and others on a daily basis to ensure all customer routes are serviced in a timely and professional manner.
Identify unsatisfactory waste containers and tag containers in accordance with applicable departmental procedures.
Continuously monitor waste for evidence of unacceptable waste.
Clean area around an accidental waste spill, ensuring adherence to all applicable safety standards and policies.
Continuously monitor the condition of the vehicle to ensure it is operationally ready at all times to minimize down time; clean waste from the packer blade and truck body (where appropriate) on each disposal trip.
Complete required route/productivity sheets, VCRs and other reports, as required.
Maintain adherence to required productivity standards for the department to ensure all customers are serviced in a timely and efficient manner.
Follow all required safety policies and procedures.
Actively participate in the Company’s ReSOP program.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Good customer services skills to meet and exceed customer expectations; acts in a professional, courteous and cooperative manner toward customers and co-workers; works with a sense of honesty and trustworthiness.
Good time management skills to ensure assigned responsibilities are completed in an efficient and safe manner.
